Zelda Fischer adjusted her navy blue blazer and took a deep breath as she stood outside the sleek glass doors of Vilaro Fitness LLC's towering headquarters. Her heels clicked on the marble floor of the spacious atrium, echoing the anticipation building inside her. She was about to enter a meeting with Marisol Vilaro, the enigmatic CEO of the global conglomerate.
As Zelda approached the reception desk, she couldn't help but notice the palpable air of authority that seemed to emanate from the building's very walls. A hush fell over the busy lobby as she approached, a testament to Marisol's reputation for being both a formidable businesswoman and a formidable personality.
"Zelda Fischer," she announced to the impeccably dressed receptionist, who had been expecting her. The receptionist nodded, her perfectly coiffed hair never wavering as she picked up the phone to announce Zelda's arrival.
Within a few moments the elevator doors soon opened, in the back from the elevator she emerged, the CEO of VilaroFitness Marisol Vilaro. Dressed in a smart black blazer, business style skirt, and high heel pumps, he hair done up nicely in a light bun. The Catalonian spoon spots the blonde out of the corner of her bright brown eyes and soon made her way over in a confident stride, and held out her hand.
"HI, pleasure to finally meet you. I am Marisol, nice to meet you, you're Zelda right?" She asked in a direct tone. Zelda was quick to shake Marisol’s outstretched hand, smiling practically from ear to ear for the chance to finally meet her face to face. She had been thrilled when she received a call that Vilaro Fitness was interested in talking with her and now here she was face to face with the woman herself.
“Yes, Zelda, Zelda Fisher, it’s a pleasure to meet you as well.” She spoke with a faint German accent, but nothing stronger than what Marisol was used to in her many trips throughout Europe.
Marisol heard she was another from Europe just like her. Marisol still had a slight accent of her own which came out more in private. The Catalonian motioned for Zelda to follow her, as they headed to the back elevator.
"Private elevator takes you directly to the executive offices, if the building was a bit smaller I'd take the stairs but fifteen flights of stairs on heels? Don't think so." She said with a laugh. Zelda nods along with her assessment, though doesn’t want to interrupt Marisol.
They enter the elevator Zelda was motioned in first, then Vilaro herself she then pressed the button that said 15 on it. "I like being high up with a good view l, sunrise is lovely from the office."
“Oh I can imagine, get to see all the other buildings.” Zelda postulates as she imagines the scene, though that prompts another question for her to ask.
“So does that mean that you’re in the office that early?”
Marisol nodded as the elevator shot up, as she said.
“Some days yes, today was one of my later days as I had stuff I had to take care of elsewhere beforehand, benefits of being the CEO is you make your own hours, negative is well your kind of always on call if the shit hits the fan.” Marisol gave a light chuckle, as the elevator soon stopped on the fifteenth floor.
Marisol went out first, before motioning Zelda, to follow her through the hallway, this was the executive floor, her CFO had their office there, as well as the boardroom being on the other side of the building, along with other of the top level people in the company having their own offices. The sound of heels on the floor can be heard very few people were about. As they walked down the halls, Zelda was looking all over the place almost like a child at a toy store, having not seen something so extravagant before in her life. Being inexperienced in extravagance, Zelda could only walk in awe as Marisol continued the tour towards her office.
“Busy day today, we're setting up a brand new push for VilaroFit gyms and MOTIV soon, so the office has been buzzing all day. As nice as that is, this will be a break from that for me, and we all need those.”
Marisol soon led to the door that displayed her name on the top of it and CEO, she scanned her tag which caused the door to unlock in front of them, as they stepped in the lights came on, Marisol kept her office neat. It was a large space. The walls were cream in color with pictures of Marisol herself, from several key moments in the company's history, the mission statement for a better you above her head where she said, her desk was a black nice, expensive looking one with black office chair right behind it. The marble floor greets them as Marisol shows her the chair right in front of her desk she had picked out as she moved right, to her big chair taking a seat herself. The enigmatic CEO then crosses one leg over the other admiring her own office. Zelda took a seat opposite Marisol at the desk, all of this being a pretty effective way to impress, no doubt something Marisol had done for all of her potential clients.
“So, yes as you were told we are looking to expand our talent line up, with all the growth of the company, it is important that we look for those we feel have potential to not only help grow the brand, but become impact players for the future I feel that could be you.” Marisol’s voice was direct and focused. This woman was an athlete and someone that could play a big part in things for her company. This was almost music to Zelda’s ears, she had entered into this meeting believing that she was going to have to sell herself hard to Marisl but she already seemed to be pretty interested, she just had to play it cool at this point.
“Growing the brand would be an honour for me, honestly. I, of course, as well as millions others have seen how much this company has grown in the last few years, especially with all the turmoil the world has been going through as of late. They’ve all sort of turned to you as a leader to help them through and to be a part of that movement would really give my career meaning, I feel.”
Marisol nodded, she was giving all the right answers so far, and of course who wouldn’t want to be led by me, the confident Catalonian thought. A big smile as she motioned toward her mini fridge right by her desk. “Care for something to drink?” She said it was only common courtesy after all.
Zelda just politely shook her head to the question, not wanting to come off as fussy towards her potential employer. The woman some have come to be known as the Fitness Queen, soon looks over at the blonde in front of her, eying her carefully, sizing her up so to speak. Soon she speaks again in a slower but direct tone, her accent was thicker than in the ads, on television.
“ Yes, a movement indeed the VilaroFitness revolution is going strong, and I do see a potential star in you but one question: why do you think representing VilaroFitness will give your career meaning?”
Zelda beamed at the question, it was a soft ball as far as she was concerned, having seen the success of both Summer Page and Chris Mosh before her.
“Well after Connie flew the coup so to speak I didn’t really have anything going on, I was on this tag deal at the time and without a partner that sort of made competing an impossibility but with a new season comes new starts and I feel like if your entire brand is about giving people fresh and new starts whether it’s with their bodies, their mental state or even their careers.”
Marisol nodded, listening intently she always heard more than what others would say, she heard the name Connie and flew the coup, and two things went together in her mind, the gears were turning, after a few moments she spoke again.
“Well, that is unfortunate that happened, but in the wrestling business people will drop a dime and leave you holding the bag. I am sorry that happened, but you have the right attitude. A new start will do you wonders, a chance to make an impression, look at my best friend and client of mine Yelena Gorgo.”
Marisol couldn’t help but smile, mentioning the Moldavian most thought of as a monster, and that was true. But, there was no one on the planet she trusted more; after a few moments she spoke again.
“So another question: who is Zelda Fisher? Like what do you want everyone else, and me to think when we hear your name, or see you?”
Zelda thinks about the question for a second, it wasn’t something specific that she had thought about on the way over here. She just assumed that Marisol already had an idea in her head about her, but if this was her chance to set the pace of that she was going to take it.
“Well ideally, what I want is someone to see a hard worker, an asset to whatever they do and someone not to be taken lightly. I know I’m going to have to prove myself in that regard in the ring, but I’m fully confident I’ll be able to do that if given the chance.”
Marisol eyed her; her statements were what the Fitness guru had expected to hear, it didn’t disappoint her, but she had hoped for more; after a few brief moments, the voice of the Catalonian woman sounded.
“ I mean, yes that is all true, but let me tell you what I see, I see more, I see money, fame, gold in your future, that is if you entrust in me.” Marisol wasn’t lying; she had been a proven success as a manager and a wrestler.
“ But you could be so much more than a hard worker, I value hard workers but you could be a force, I have seen your matches, I know you have the athletic ability and even the drive you have just trusted the wrong people.”
Zelda perks up when Marsol says what she can see in her, wanting nothing more than for all of that to come true. She wasn’t thrilled about Marisol saying she had trusted the wrong people cause Connie was her friend but she knew she needed to move forward with this so she didn’t question it.
“I’ll certainly do what I can to prove to you that you’re not wasting your time with me. I’m willing to dedicate myself to work hard and be another Vilaro System success story, you just have to lead the way and I’ll follow like a dutiful soldier.”
Marisol eyed the young woman again; it was what was not said that intrigued the young CEO, as she was showing some empathy toward the German woman, across from her. “You will be, if you follow my advice, you will be a star if you take this, and follow my direction. That is a promise of mine to you, you will have your place in this business instead of being lost in the wind.” Marisol said maintaining the “empathic look” in her eyes.
“ But a soldier, that is not what we are about. It is a partnership, yes you will be a client, but it will be us together making a load of money together, I will show you the way to do so, but trust in me you will go far.”
Zelda nodded along with what Marisol said, understanding that she wasn’t looking for a minion, she was looking for a partner that she could trust.
“I think that’s the best way to put it, yes. A partner to work with and achieve success with. I’m ready for this Miss Vilaro, I can promise you that.”
Marisol couldn’t help it, she had a bright smile on her face as she slid a paper with a clipboard toward her, on the top of the paper read VilaroFitness on it, it was a contract, a long one at that but maintained proper paperwork was very important to the CEO of VilaroFitness. The woman eyed her as she said “ This is just the formal paperwork, look it over and take your time, but I feel this will be quite a beautiful business relationship.” Marisol had a gleam in her eye, she had Zelda, she knew it.
“ If you have any questions do feel free to ask, I do want this to be as smooth of a move as possible, I have several things already lined up, and I can’t wait to show you what I have in mind for you and your future,” Marisol said confidently. Zelda didn’t even hesitate, quickly glancing over the contract presented to her but she signed the paper and stood up, extending her hand to Marisol. “I can’t wait to see what you have in store, I’m ready for anything!” Marisol shakes Zelda hand, a smirk spreading across her lips as she’s signed another one.
