With a few days prior to the next Revolution, the three members of the Aces had agreed to get together to discuss a few things. And the meeting place was not far from where Serenity lived in Texas. In fact, it was a coffee shop where we join them all seated in a booth.
Kevin: Goddamn, it’s hot in this city.
And yes, there was a heatwave currently ongoing.
Kevin: Anyway, the reason I asked you both to meet with me is because we have some business as Aces to discuss, including we have someone who wants to fill the Diamond role for the group. So we’ll have to take a vote on that.
At the mention of a potential new Diamond, Talia's eyebrow raises.
Talia: Dare I ask? The last one didn't exactly go to plan.
Kevin: Couldn't be helped there. Carina was already wrestling in other companies. No idea she would drop. But this one, well she's been very active for some time now. World championship on her list of accolades. Plus she also works here. You both know Summer, right?
Serenity was leaning back in the chair with her arms crossed and eyes narrowed after hearing about a potential member to finally fulfill the role of the Diamond. However, at the mere mention of Summer’s name, she slowly leaned upwards into a endearing posture and narrowed her eyes directly at Kevin. Her lips parted slowly and venom began to spew behind her words.
Serenity: Summer fuckin’ who?!
Kevin had a feeling this might get a frosty reaction from his girlfriend, and immediately tried to assuage her obvious disapproval.
Kevin: I know what you're thinking. There is nothing to be concerned about though. There is zero interest outside of the professional here. She asked me about the idea. I already did that whole thing with her before we got together, and it didn't work out. I'm very happy with you, she's into some dude who manages a lingerie football team.
He them took Serenity's hand in his.
Kevin: Besides any time she'd be around is when we are all together, so there is zero chance of anything happening, not that it would have regardless.
Serenity snatches her hand away from his and leaned forward on the table clasping her hands together. Her hazel eyes looking deep into her boyfriend’s was a furious warning of a rattled Serenity ready to spew damage onto someone no matter who it was.
Serenity: So you mean to tell me you two were together as in the Same. Damn. Place?! I don’t give a shit which guy she’s into, I want to know why this bitch is asking to get into my business?!
Her tone and volume was already infuriated from the sheer thought of Summer Page. The slick smile was gnarly as she titled her head a little bit expecting an answer.
Kevin: Nah, this was over a few text messages. I haven't actually seen her in person since….the last Uprising show. And again, this is just asking. I promised nothing other than I'd bring it up with you both.
Talia has been watching this potential lovers quarrel for a minute. As always she bides her time before speaking. When she does her voice is firm, commanding.
Talia: Serenity. Calm down. I understand the concern, but there is no need to go from zero to one hundred like that. We don't do that. Aces don't act like that. So simmer.
She pauses to let her statement hang over the conversation for a second. She hopes her firmness sets the conversation back on a productive note.
Talia: Now Summer… why? What was her reasoning? Besides the obvious fact the Aces are THE hot commodity at the moment.
Kevin: She dropped Marisol, and we all know she doesn't forgive and forget. Plus I know how good she is in the ring, she was Uprising World Champion. Not a whole lot of them running around in this company.
Talia: I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea. While I understand Serenity's feelings.. at the end of the day this is business. Summer is a force. I think it's certainly worth considering. And not writing off because of dating drama.
Talia turns to look right at Serenity. Talia tries to show some empathy for Serenity, but still clearly serious.
Talia: I get that you may not trust Summer. I also know that some of the most successful partnerships I have had were with people I didn't necessarily trust at first. I think you need to take a second to think beyond personal feelings and think about the team.
Kevin: If there were still anything between Summer and I, I wouldn't be where I am now. We parted amicably.
Serenity wasn’t too happy about the situation but Talia was the voice of reason. She slumped back into the chair with her arms folded and was still annoyed by all this chatter. However, she looked at Talia then to Kevin.
Serenity: The last time I was in the ring with Summer Page, I beat that woman and afterwards, she helped Marisol almost end my career. Now all of a sudden, she wants to join us because her and Marisol ain’t friends no more? I don’t trust that woman, you’re right Talia and my gut feeling is she’s someone who only cares about herself.
Kevin: If that's the case, she won't last very long in this group. This is a unit, not just three parts. Now I personally don't think she's like that, but if she is, I'll let you be the one to uh…give her her walking papers so to speak.
Serenity shrugged her shoulders and leaned back again in defeat.
Serenity: I trust you both so if you think Summer can stay in her lane and not cross me, we’re good. However, the moment she does, I’m taking her out with no hesitation.
Talia: I think it would be foolish to not try. She could be an asset. And I don't think we will have to worry about her not staying in her lane. I'll keep her in line.
Kevin: This only makes the group stronger as a whole. I mean look at what we have here. We got a veteran who just happens to specialize as a tag wrestler. Record setting tag champion at that. Summer also knows what it’s like to compete on the highest levels, being a former World Champion. We got the hottest act in multiple companies with almost as many titles as most people have underwear, who just happens to be the Silver State Champion. And then me, the next Uprising World Champion. To me, that sounds like an unstoppable force.
