OOC: Serenity used with owners assistance in this segment.
The scene opens up backstage, where the main event had just finished between Sally Hood/Madison Carter & the Silver State Champion Serenity Holmes and her stable mate Talia Sky. We see Amy sitting alone as she makes notes about what she had just watched before looking up and rubbing her eyes. Her attention is diverted to the entrance of catering, where she sees Serenity Holmes and Talia Sky talking loudly about their win against Sally Hood and Madison Carter.
Serenity Holmes: I told that little blonde bimbo’ to not get involved in our match and look at her now, pathetic.
The snickering laughter from both women caught the attention of others socializing inside the catering vicinity presenting an obnoxious behavior from the two. Serenity has freshened up from her main event tag team bout and has the Silver State Championship in her possession while sporting a casual look inspired by a more teenage gothic aesthetic appeal.
Serenity Holmes: I’m telling you Talia; If you think the beating we gave them was bad, imagine what I’ll do to-
In the corner of her right eye, she notices exactly the person she was going to mention.
Serenity Holmes: Hey, I’ll see you in a few. I got business to handle.
Serenity’s eyes focused on Talia meeting her in a staredown. She confidently flipped her hair behind her, shrugged her leather jacket on and made a walk, following a bee-line to Amy Santino’s table and loudly dragged the opposing seat across from her before sitting down. To make it more tense, she kicked up her feet on the table and leaned back in chair before pulling another one from a table to rest her championship belt on.
Serenity Holmes: Hey Ames, how’s everything?
Amy flips her note book closed, as she looks at Serenity and then the Silver State Championship.
Amy Santino: Fine. Congratulations on your win.
Amy produces a fake smile before continuing on…
Amy Santino: Although it was perhaps very one sided and too easy. But it won’t be like that come Vertigo.
Amy acknowledges the Supershow Card in Canada on July 1st. Serenity nodded and smiled at Amy, a more confident smile with a sinister undertone. She’s never respected Amy and the newfound attitude has amplified her disregard. However, her eyebrows perked up at the mentioning of UPRISING’S upcoming Supershow, Vertigo, and Serenity cleaned her nails before looking Amy back in the eyes.
Serenity Holmes: Ah yes, Vertigo. I knew we would be facing each other again since you’ve been consistently demanding a rematch, making promos and statements that you were screwed over since day one and now you’ve talked your way into getting a rematch. Amy, I want to clear the air between us.
She removes her legs from off the table and sits upright with her hands clasped on the table’s edge.
Serenity Holmes: I don’t have anything against you Amy. I respect you as a competitor, I truly do, but I think you’re misguided on what our Silver State Championship match means at Vertigo. You have this idea you’re the underdog whose been busting her ass since day one. You’re currently on a winning streak and you’ve beaten some relatively known names here; In other words, you are number one contender for my championship.
She leans in closer.
Serenity Holmes: But if you think I can’t handle someone like you in one-on-one competition especially when my championship is on the line, you are extremely mistaken.
Amy cocks her head and thinks for a moment as listens to Serenity talk and soaks in what she is saying before leaning forward as she briefly plays with the pen.
Amy Santino: In your eyes, I may not have earned a rematch but lets face it… I had very little chance against you and Kevin and it was effectively a two on one handicap match. Hardly fair. I just want a fair one-on-one match. Nothing wrong in asking that.
Amy shrugs before continuing.
Amy Santino: As for the idea of me being the underdog. I have never considered myself the underdog going into any match here or anywhere else. I just focus on the task at hand and take anything that comes my way. And since you are coming my way… I am not going to take you lightly. This is why I am here, not at home - I want to scout every single match that you have here. I want to see how you tick and how you move etc…so that I can counter anything you throw at me. I suggest you do the same.
Amy says with confidence and in the hopes of rattling Serenity just a little. Serenity nodded slowly and looked down to fiddling her thumbs until turning her attention to the championship belt beside her. She removed it off the top of the chair and gently stacked it upright between them with her name plate facing Amy. Serenity leaned back with her arms folded across her chest and sighed.
Serenity Holmes: Solstice. You remember the Supershow last year in August? Solstice?
Serenity shrugged. Amy nodded in remembering her debut.
Serenity Holmes: That’s when you made your debut in UPRISING. You told the entire world who you are; Amy Santino, former multiple-time world champion and globally recognized Hall of Fame professional wrestler. You were excited, joyful and ready to carve your name in UPRISING’s history books. Where was I at the moment? I was busy preparing to defeat Cliff Morgan, former Silver State Champion, on the path to defeating Marisol Vilaro.
She sits upright.
Serenity Holmes: Ever since then, our careers have not been the same in UPRISING. You were defeating people consistently on UNLEASHED and REVOLUTION shows. Amy Santino was winning via pinfall, submission or technical knockout. Where was I? I was busy defeating former Silver State and World Champions doing everything in my power to go against a Vilaro System hellbent on shutting me down.
Serenity rolls her eyes.
Serenity Holmes: You said you never consider yourself an underdog? You are one now because we are not the same. You can sit there and study me all you want, you can watch all my matches and check out my Wikipedia page that gets updated every damn day but the one thing I will tell you straight to your face Amy is that while you’re busy taking notes, I’m living what you should have done.
She taps the belt in front of Amy.
Serenity Holmes: You’ve had a lot to say about me so grant me five minutes to respond to your statements. From day one, I’ve been persecuted as someone who wouldn’t last in this company. I had to fight through impossible challenges against opponents who could rip me in half. Cliff Morgan, Summer Page, Samantha Tolson, ARIA, the former Unity Champions in a handicap match and then face Marisol Vilaro in a match where she could change the rules at any given moment.
Serenity’s voice became stronger and others seated around them took notice.
Serenity Holmes: But in the end Amy, I won. I overcame every challenge and the board of trustees respected that enough to put me in the Silver State Championship match you were number one contender for. That’s called earning respect and proving what you are made of; Amy, everything you’re saying, I’ve done it in the short time but I’m not knocking you down Amy. I truly look forward to our match because I want to look you in the eyes.
She pushes the championship belt closer to Amy and leans her arms on the table. Serenity’s smile disappears and she looks extremely serious.
Serenity Holmes: When you’ve done everything you can, all the research, studying, and training, it won’t help you. I’m taking you seriously because I know what it means to be an underdog, and they will do everything in their power to win when they have nothing to lose. I will not lose my belt to you because I’ve been through hell and back and I won. I’ve enjoyed the fruits of my labor and I’m not letting it happen. Look at this championship belt and take a good look at it because this is the closest you’ll ever come to it.
Amy takes in all the information from Serenity and has a long think about it, as she looks at the Silver State Championship and the name plate that Serenity took pride in showing off.
Amy Santino: Look I appreciate that you worked hard to get here. We have all had our stumbling blocks in getting to where we are today. But you being suckered into Marisol Vilaros fitness bullshit is all down to you… why entertain a narcissistic princess like her?
Amy shrugs before continuing.
Amy Santino: Anyway… I don’t care about that. I appreciate that you have been working hard ever since, but perhaps a little too hard. You can only keep your facade up for so long. All these companies that you are in and all these titles you are collecting… you will slip up. I will be watching very closely and will happily tell you… I told you so - when you are a burnt out broken shell.
Amy looks up and into Serenity eyes and offers a hand out.
Amy Santino: I appreciate the respect… but I am not going to offer it back. Not until it is all said and done and then maybe just maybe I will offer it back. But that is all down to you and if Kevin or Talia gets involved.
Amy keeps her hand out as she keeps her eyes locked on Serenity. Serenity kept a blank facial expression maintaining the staredown but extended her hand slowly before grasping it for a handshake. She lets go and stands up taking the championship belt back in her possession.
Serenity Holmes: Believe me Amy, I don’t need anyone to beat you.
She walks towards the exit until stopping to say something over her shoulder to Amy.
Serenity Holmes: One more thing Amy, if you want to see someone who is a burnt-out broken sall of themselves, I suggest you look in the mirror.
Serenity continues walking on, as Amy glares at the disappearing Serenity as she goes to pick up her note book and prepares to launch it in Serenity’s direction but changes her mind.
Amy: Fuck you!
Amy shakes her head, as she climbs to her feet and shoves the chair under the table before picking up her pen and she leaves the area going the other way and towards the main exit. The scene fades out with just the view of the catering area and staff.
