The cameras open up in a sit-down interview area for a special Spilling The Tea where we see two comfy chairs. In one is none other than Natalie Rivera, one of the lead interviewers of Uprising—dressed professionally as always in a purple blazer and skirt combo. Across from her chair is the now-former manager of the One Percent, none other than Marisol Vilaró, who was dressed in a white sleeveless blouse with a purple flared mini skirt from Christian Dior and black Louboutin high heel pumps. Her hair had blonde highlights, making it look light brown, and the ordinarily smug Fitness Guru looked a bit more reserved than usual, likely due to all the thoughts still racing through her head. However, she remained composed and calm. The shot lingered for a bit longer before Natalie finally began to speak in a professional and cordial tone.
Marisol cleared her throat a bit before speaking, and the Catalonian was doing her best to keep her composure; it had been a rough couple of months. It seemed in a short time her life had been turned upside down.
Natalie smiled and nodded, her eyes only glancing down at one of the questions she had prepared; it was typical that she had a few ready ahead of time just to get the interview started before it went through its paces.
This question almost took Marisol aback, coming right off the bat, but it was also one she had expected to come up eventually during the questioning. She took a breath and kept her gaze on Natalie before speaking calmly.
Natalie looked on, confused that something like that would be brought up as Marisol continued in the same calm but straightforward tone when it was clear that the interviewer wasn’t going to answer the question.
Marisol replied, direct as possible with no hesitation.
Marisol nodded, her tone rising with some anger coming into it as she continued.
I had to protect its legacy by killing it, and I would do it again if I had to.
The One Percent is the greatest faction this company has ever seen, but I wasn’t going to let it be dragged into the mud thanks to the actions of Chris Mosh and Summer Page. So if you want to blame someone, blame yourselves. Because I am the only one with any right to kill The One Percent.
Natalie looked at Marisol with concern as a slight smirk appeared on Marisol’s face.
Marisol had a calm look on her face, showing she had managed to maintain her composure.
Marisol said more enthusiastically than before, very sincerely happy with Chad and his work for Vilaro Fitness. Natalie soon spoke up, asking yet another question in the same professional manner.
Marisol slowly began to unravel, fidgeting and breathing a bit heavier. She had no issue answering the questions about the One Percent but her recent discovery of her biological father? That was a different matter entirely. She slowly began to speak, choosing her words carefully.
As Natalie said, Marisol began to tremble a bit more, trying to console her.
Marisol looked down for a moment, trying to hold it together.
Marisol began to let out a small cry; she tried to hold it together, but it wasn’t working. She grabbed a tissue to wipe her eyes as Natalie leaned in closer, covering her microphone as she stage whispered, checking up on the distraught Catalonian.
Marisol nodded.
Marisol kept her head down for a long whole as a tear rolled down her cheek. She was eventually looking up and counting on her voice, still shaky.
Marisol began to cry even louder than before, now completely breaking down as Natalie looked uncomfortable and unsure if she should even continue. Knowing she won’t get anything more out of the distraught Fitness Queen, Natalie motioned for the camera to cut, not even taking the time to send off the viewers. The last image was a close-up of poor Marisol, who was bawling her eyes out as the scene faded to black.
NATALIE RIVERA
Everyone, please welcome to a special edition of Spilling The Tea, a woman I have wanted to interview for a long time: the – now I guess we can say former – manager of The One Percent, The founder of Vilaró Fitness, creator of the Vilaró System, and soon to be launching her brand new VilaróFit gyms later this year. Please welcome Marisol Vilaró! Marisol, thank you for joining me tonight. It’s nice to finally get this opportunity. I do wish it was under better circumstances, though. Marisol cleared her throat a bit before speaking, and the Catalonian was doing her best to keep her composure; it had been a rough couple of months. It seemed in a short time her life had been turned upside down.
MARISOL VILARÓ
Thank you, and yeah, it has been rough. But, as I said before, I will answer whatever you have for me. Natalie smiled and nodded, her eyes only glancing down at one of the questions she had prepared; it was typical that she had a few ready ahead of time just to get the interview started before it went through its paces.
NATALIE RIVERA
Now there are so many questions, but I have to start with what we saw tonight on Revolution; you dissolved your contracts with Chris Mosh and Summer Page, two people you have long associated with since you arrived in Uprising nearly two years ago. The question on everyone’s mind is, why would you do that? After all this time, after the success that it’s been, you would end it just like that? This question almost took Marisol aback, coming right off the bat, but it was also one she had expected to come up eventually during the questioning. She took a breath and kept her gaze on Natalie before speaking calmly.
MARISOL VILARÓ
I have a question: what do you do when something or someone you care about is sick, like terminally ill, with no chance of getting better? Do you pull the plug or let it suffer in agony? Natalie looked on, confused that something like that would be brought up as Marisol continued in the same calm but straightforward tone when it was clear that the interviewer wasn’t going to answer the question.
MARISOL VILARÓ
It’s ok, I understand, but I cared so much for the One Percent I always have since it was founded between the Socialites, Mosh, Reno, and myself. I cared about it when we brought on Cliff Morgan, and I cared when Reno betrayed Mosh.I cared when Morgan dumped me live in front of the world! I managed enough to put myself on the line for this group repeatedly, no matter how many times I was betrayed and let down. I kept chugging along, finding new ways to get this group what it deserved; hell, I even brought in Majestuosa Manor, and they became Unity Champions in just their first couple of months. I know talent, and they all have that, but something became apparent last show; something far more crucial was missing two things; you know what they are? NATALIE RIVERA
I’m not sure. Please, Marisol. Elaborate for me. What are those things? Marisol replied, direct as possible with no hesitation.
MARISOL VILARÓ
Loyalty and drive, Natalie. When those things are missing, there isn’t much you can do to save a group. The lack of drive has been evident for a while; look at Mosh, for example, a man I helped get to the very top of this same company. He threw it away when he didn’t keep his eyes on the ball, allowing Sam Tolson to beat him. Now we have her as champion. We have The Kingdom running rampant now and honestly, the whole thing makes me sick to my stomach. Then the following week, he demonstrates disloyalty by walking out on Summer. Then he dared to blame me, after all I have done for him? I improved his training! I was the one in his corner, making sure that he was getting the opportunities he deserved. I was the one who made sure Brad Jackson was off his back. I was the one who put herself on the line for him repeatedly, and I get repaid in such a manner? But you know someone else, Summer Page, represents disloyalty even more than him. NATALIE RIVERA
Summer, what about her caused this to occur? I know you two hadn’t really been speaking since the Frozen Fury supershow. From an outside perspective, it feels like the first cracks began to show when she lost the Uprising Championship.Marisol nodded, her tone rising with some anger coming into it as she continued.
MARISOL VILARÓ
That woman showed her true colors tonight and has never cared about me; at least Mosh showed up to the meeting. Could she even bother to do that? No. After all, I did for her career, hell, I had always been there for her repeatedly. I am done being treated as an afterthought by my clients. No one cares more for their success than me and I have gone to great pains to showcase every one of them over the last two years. They couldn’t have bothered to check up and see how I was holding up or how I was doing? Like I made sure they had a path to greatness, and they couldn’t even say, “Hey Marisol, I saw what happened. Are you ok?” Hell, Serenity Holmes, of all people, has shown more care and concern for me than either of those two. But that showed me I made the right call. I chose to end the One Percent with a pen stroke. I decided to stop the rot before it spread even deeper. So in answer to your question, Natalie… The One Percent had cancer; it was rotting from the inside out, and I had to save it by ending it.I had to protect its legacy by killing it, and I would do it again if I had to.
NATALIE RIVERA
What about Majestuosa Manor? Word is they have a new contract; may we get some details as to your arrangement with them? MARISOL VILARÓ
I am very proud of those girls; no one is more proud of them than me; they came and won Unity Championships in record time. They are now the last champions the One Percent produced. But our arrangement is a different matter that will fully reveal itself when the time is right; until then, you and everyone else can keep guessing. Marisol had a calm look on her face, showing she had managed to maintain her composure.
NATALIE RIVERA
Fair enough. Could you tell us a little more about your deal with Chad? Is he affected by this in any way? MARISOL VILARÓ
Chad’s contract isn’t discharged; he’s a capable asset and client to me. He’s a great brand ambassador; he’s helped increase sales of the Vilaro System by ten percent since he arrived on the scene. I look forward to his success. Marisol said more enthusiastically than before, very sincerely happy with Chad and his work for Vilaro Fitness. Natalie soon spoke up, asking yet another question in the same professional manner.
NATALIE RIVERA
Well, now to the brass tacks, so to speak. So take us through it; what was going through your mind when you found out not only is Brad Jackson your father, but he had knowingly kept it a secret all this time? Marisol slowly began to unravel, fidgeting and breathing a bit heavier. She had no issue answering the questions about the One Percent but her recent discovery of her biological father? That was a different matter entirely. She slowly began to speak, choosing her words carefully.
MARISOL VILARÓ
What did you think that felt like? It felt like a brick hit me. It’s still sore. Nothing has been the same since that moment; honestly, it’s why I didn't go to the show tonight. As Natalie said, Marisol began to tremble a bit more, trying to console her.
NATALIE RIVERA
Take your time, Marisol; I know this isn’t easy.Marisol looked down for a moment, trying to hold it together.
MARISOL VILARÓ
You’re right. It’s not, especially when someone you trusted more than anyone in this business is the one who betrays your trust more than anyone else. I don’t know when it comes to that, but every day I feel like I take one step forward and three steps back. I want things to make sense since I signed Uprising. Reno betraying me, Cliff and Brad Jackson? After all, I did for them, the other two hurt, sure, but Jackson? Words can’t describe what I am feeling right now or how I felt that night other than torn and crushed. Marisol began to let out a small cry; she tried to hold it together, but it wasn’t working. She grabbed a tissue to wipe her eyes as Natalie leaned in closer, covering her microphone as she stage whispered, checking up on the distraught Catalonian.
NATALIE RIVERA
Are you sure you can keep going? Marisol nodded.
NATALIE RIVERA
I want to share something with you, if that’s alright. There has been a lot of outpouring of support. A lot of letters and things have been written online and a lot of young women really feel connected with what you’re going through. Tell me honestly, Marisol… what are you feeling right at this moment? Marisol kept her head down for a long whole as a tear rolled down her cheek. She was eventually looking up and counting on her voice, still shaky.
MARISOL VILARÓ
I feel like hell. Honestly, it’s still fresh, and it's been almost a month?! Like the event just replays over, and over again in my mind, like every single night I go to bed, then I think about it when I am awake. I just want the thoughts to stop! I want them to leave me alone! Why is this happening to me?!
