It was a fair day here in Denver, Colorado but instead of showing off people were heading off in different directions or enjoying the day. We focused inside The Kingdom where we found one of the newest UPRISING signees Madison Carter in one of the rings. Across from Madison was her LFL Denver Dimes teammate Samantha Skylar. On the outside of the ring stood Jace Parker Davidson who was watching the two women inside of the ring.
It seems to be a break in the action as Samantha is drinking from a bottle of water. Madison is slouched down in one of the corners pouting as Jace slaps his hands on the ring apron repeatedly.
“Alright, break time is over, let’s get back at it.” Jace barked.
“This is cruel and unusual torture!” Madison whined.
“This is what you signed up for, Madison.” Jace fired back. “You’re a member of the Denver Dimes just like Samantha here. You took on working at the Velvet Rabbit, and now you’re a member of the UPRISING roster.”
“So, what’s your point?” Madison raised her arms in the air in confusion.
“My point is that it takes a lot of work and effort to juggle so many things at once. The LFL season is almost over and we’re trying to push for the playoffs.” Jace explained. “The Velvet Rabbit is open 365 days a week and now you have your first wrestling match this year coming up on Saturday night.”
“But I could be lounging by the pool with Tolson and Kanako!” Madison folded her arms over her chest.
“You could, but you’re not. You’re here and that means you’re going to put the work in.” Jace lectured.
“But--” Madison started but Jace cut her off.
“No buts. You’re here because, unlike both Tolson and Kanako, you haven’t wrestled in months.” Jace rubbed his hand over his chin. “But don’t worry, I’m going to drag both Tolson and Kanako here too. They can have all the fun pool time they want when the LFL season is over and we’re holding that Championship.”
“He’s stubborn and I don’t think you’re going to win this argument, Maddy.” Samantha Skylar added.
“Ugh, fine!!!” Madison pulled herself up to a vertical base in a dramatic fashion.
“For fucks sake, Madison. Take off the cat ears!” Jace groaned.
“You’re just being mean!” Madison stuck her tongue out at Jace.
“I have to side with her this time, the cat ears are totally adorable.” Samantha Skylar revealed with a laugh.
Jace shook his head and let out a sigh.
“I work with fucking children,” Jace mumbled under his breath.
Inside the ring, Skylar and Madison circle each other slowly before locking up. Skylar gets the advantage with a side headlock on Madison. Skylar tightens her grip but Madison fires off some shots to the ribs. Madison pulls herself free and shoots Skylar off into the ropes. Skylar rebounds off the ropes and hits Madison with a shoulder block that sends her down to the canvas. Skylar turns and heads to the ropes again as Madison kips up to her feet. Madison catches Skylar as she comes off the ropes with a hip toss. However, Skylar blocks it and hits Madison with a knee to the face. Madison staggers but Skylar hits her with a belly-to-back suplex down to the canvas.
“And this is exactly why you need to be here working your ass off,” Jace shouted.
“Shut up!” Madison screamed as she pulled herself up to her feet slowly.
Madison rushed at Skylar, but Skylar unloaded some stiff knife-edged chops to the chest. Madison staggers backward with each chop. Skylar grabs a hold of Madison and whips her spine first hard into the turnbuckle. Skylar charges in but Madison gets her boot up in time. Skylar staggers away from the corner as Madison climbs up to the middle rope. As Skylar turns around, Madison leaps off the middle rope and hits her with a missile dropkick that takes her down to the canvas.
“There you go, remember you have to use your speed and high flying to your advantage.” Jace clapped his hands together. “You’re not the biggest or strongest person. You need to pack an extra punch to your moves. You need to the high flying for high impact.”
Both Skylar and Madison get back up to their feet. Madison charges towards Skylar but Skylar swings a mighty clothesline. Madison ducks under the clothesline attempt and bounces off the other side of the ropes. As Skylar turns around, Madison cuts her in half with a spear that takes her down to the canvas. Madison grabs a hold of Skylar and quickly transitions into a cross-face submission.
“I’m soooo ready for this debut match!” Madison exclaimed as she pulled back on the submission.
“Ready might be a bit of an overstatement.” Jace retorted.
“Are you saying creepy face dude can beat me?!” Madison questioned.
“I’m saying I’d believe you were ready for this UPRISING debut if you could say something other than your opponent is creepy,” Jace answered.
“But he is!” Madison argued back.
“Agreed.” Samantha Skylar said while struggling to free herself.
“Just because he’s creepy does that mean he can’t kick you right in the face?” Jace pointed out.
“He also uses the same damn selfie over and over again.” Madison protested.
“And what does that have to do with professional wrestling?” Jace began to walk around the outside of the ring. “Twitter banter is one thing but if you’re not prepared to throw down inside of the ring then all of that is pointless. Your opponent is bigger than you and stronger than you. Focus on what he can and cannot do inside of the ring instead of what he does or doesn’t do on Twitter.”
“That’s really hypocritical coming from you of all people.” There was disdain in Madison’s voice as Skylar began to pull herself up to her feet.
“I’ve been a Champion for a long time now. Who have you beaten outside of an enhancement talent and what belt have you won?” Jace said with an oozing amount of venom.
“That is a low blow, Bro,” Madison said before getting taken down with a DDT by Skylar.
“You need to take this more seriously.” Jace slapped his hand on the ring apron. “Your first time in an arena for UPRISING you decided to come down to the ring and chase off Marisol Vilaro and The One Percent from the beating that they were giving me post-match. That means that you’re on Marisol’s radar now and she’ll do anything to take you out and make sure that The One Percent regains their position at the top of the UPRISING food chain. This is more than just some random match against a creepy guy.”
Madison pulled herself up to her feet, but she was met with forearm shots to the face from Skylar. With Madison rocked, Skylar grabs a hold of her and shoots her off into the ropes. Madison bounces off the ropes but then leaps into the air and hits Skylar with Rasenshuriken. Both women crash down to the canvas hard leaving Jace with an impressed look on his face. That impressed look soon fades when Madison gets up to her knees and starts doing Naruto-like Jutsu hand signs.
“And it's when you waste your time doing nonsense like that in the ring that leads to a crushing defeat,” Jace growled.
“You’re so hard on me about this one debut match but what about you? This tag team match is the highest you’ve been on the card in UPRISING. Shouldn’t you be preparing just as hard as I am?” Madison tilted her head as Skylar rolled over and looked at Jace.
“Trying to turn the tables on me?” Jace looked offended by the lack of faith. “I’ve been waiting to step into the ring with Chris Mosh from the moment I stepped foot in UPRISING last year. The man was a Paper Champion and now he’s just hanging by a thread. Summer Page has all the potential in the world, but she needs to get her head out of the Vilaro system bullshit and prove why she is a former UPRISING World Champion.”
“You told Madison it takes more than Twitter banter.” Samantha Skylar said before high-fiving Madison.
“And you don’t think I haven’t planted seeds that are slowly but surely growing?” Jace pulls himself up to the ring apron. “Since Equinox II, I’ve been talking to Summer Page and showing her that Marisol Vilaro and The One Percent don’t give two shits about her. She’s been slowly pulling away from the group, but I’ve been trying to give her a little bit of a nudge in the right direction.”
“Your entire game plan is to have Summer Page turn on Chris Mosh and The One Percent?” Madison raised her eyebrow.
“Absolutely not.” Jace scoffed. “But let’s get real, this whole match? Is nothing more than a who can pin Samantha Tolson first race. Mosh thinks he just deserves to be UPRISING World Champion even though he literally just lost the belt at the last show. Summer Page has been waiting for a shot that I think she’s owed for the belt. But because she’s attached at the hip with The One Percent, she gets lost in the mix.”
Jace walks along the ring apron.
“Mosh thinks that the both of them are united as a team in this. But the more he whines on Twitter about how Tolson had to cheat to beat him. The more he acts like it’s only a matter of time before he has that belt around his waist again. The more Summer Page sees it and I don’t know about you but she’s not exactly co-signing anything that Mosh says other than a like here and there. Yet, it was just yesterday she invited me to join her and talk business while we watched Enigma wrestle in the UK. Frankly, Mosh is too stupid to see what is happening around him.”
“Now, let’s say you and Tolson win this match on Saturday. Does that mean that you’re never going to go after the UPRISING World Championship belt while she holds it?” Samantha Skylar asked with a smirk on her face.
“Well for one, I don’t control how the matches are booked in UPRISING,” Jace said after thinking for a moment. “I would think the only way Brad Jackson would make that match would be to try and drive a wedge between me and Tolson. Then again, would he really be able to endure seeing the UPRISING World Championship belt around my waist? Highly doubtful.”
“That is not an answer!” Madison kicked her feet on the canvas.
“I don’t have any intentions of trying to win the UPRISING World Championship belt from Samantha Tolson at any time,” Jace replied with confidence. “However, if there comes a time when Tolson and I are forced to face each other in a match. Whether the title is on the line or not, I’m going to go out there and fight here like she was anyone else on the roster.”
Jace leaned against the top rope looking at both Madison and Skylar when suddenly a voice was heard off in the distance.
“You want to fight me, huh?”
Everyone turns and looks in the direction the voice came from. Madison jumps to her feet and makes her way to the ropes.
“Yooooo the Champ is here!” Madison says loud enough to be heard throughout the building.
The UPRISING World Champion Samantha Tolson can be seen standing there with her gym bag over her shoulder and her wrestling gear already on. Tolson rolls her neck loosening up a bit before dropping the bag on the floor.
“Just because you’re the Champion now means I’m supposed to be scurred of you?” Jace waved his hand dismissively. “Should have stayed hanging out by the pool, you don’t want none of this.”
Tolson narrowed her brow and then cracked her knuckles.
“That’s a lot of big talk from someone who isn’t the UPRISING World Champion.” Tolson shot back. “And since it seems you’ve been busy playing trainer, I think you can find the time to step into the ring against me. After all, I got to make sure you’re up to par for Saturday night. I can’t have you making me look bad out there.”
Jace huffed a little bit but then sat down on the middle rope. He gestured to the inside of the ring as Samantha approached.
“I’ll be sure to embarrass you enough in here so that none of it happens on Saturday night.” Jace teased as Tolson stepped through the ropes.
Jace entered the ring as Tolson started to warm up. Madison and Skylar exited the ring as the two lovebirds circled each other slowly before locking up.
