Subscribers to Kevin’s Twitch stream find him with a guest just a couple days after Frozen Fury. And that guest would be his newly-hired personal interviewer, Mia Rivera. Though it doesn’t look like she’s all that unbiased of an interviewer as she’s seen sat across his lap wearing a casual ensemble. She’s got on a cropped babydoll top that says WEIRDO in rainbow lettering and a pair of hot pink cropped yoga pants. Her vibrant hair is tied back in a loose and messy ponytail at the nape of her neck. She’s rounded out today’s fit with a pair of black ballet flats.
Kevin: Hello, Twitch. It’s me again, your girlfriend’s favorite wrestler and STILL your reigning and defending Silver State Champion Kevin Mears. I know you all watched Frozen Fury, and you should if you haven’t. A lot of things happened that night, but we’re only going to cover the things that affect…who else but me? Say hello to my new personal interviewer, the gorgeous and radiant Mia Rivera.
Mia: Hi, everybody!!
Kevin: We’re gonna do things a little bit different today, because first and foremost, I want you to get to know Mia. You’re going to be seeing her a lot more because she’s going to be everywhere I am at Uprising shows and events. So why don’t you tell those who don’t know you that well all about yourself?
Mia: Oh my lordt, where to even start. Uhm, I used to wrestle once upon a time. I worked in Femme Fatale Wrestling back when it first opened like over a decade ago. I wrestled in Portland Pro back before it closed – won a championship there, too. I had some health concerns so I retired for a bit and used that time to finish my schooling. I’m a certified kinesiologist. Also licensed for massage therapy in New York State. Lately, I've been working a few days a week at The Velvet Rabbit. And I’m also just about done with an apprenticeship for tattooing. I know. I’m a busy, busy beaver.
Kevin nods as he listens, clearly already aware of all this but still following along intently before he continues.
Kevin: Now why don’t you tell everyone why you applied for the job of being the personal interviewer of the Silver State Champion. Why did you want the gig?
Mia: Besides being your biggest fan? I wanted to make sure that you get the best representation. I mean, let’s face it, Natalie, as much as I love her because she’s kinda dating my dad or whatever… isn’t really the most fair with her interviews.
Kevin: Mhmm mhm. Now as my personal interviewer, I’m sure your goal is to be an objective reporter just like so many before you who have been in sports broadcasting. Is that right?
He asks as she’s still sat across his lap.
Mia: Oh absolutely! I want to be completely fair and unbiased.
Kevin: Now tell me what was your favorite match and why from Frozen Fury? Which one stood out the most above all the others?
Mia: No offense to you… but my standout was the Horsewomen for the Unity Championships. Both were amazing, lots of back and forth. I mean, you were just facing Jacki and while she gave it her all, she fell short.
Kevin: I can see that, the Horsewomen are fantastic. But let’s switch to the Silver State title defense. Were you surprised in the slightest who was better between Jacki and I? I mean look at the new card that just came out, it proves what I was always saying. I’m at the top, she’s nowhere close.
Mia: As you should be!
Kevin: Some have been asking who that woman was that got her hands on Jacki during the match. Well her name is Carina Vega, and I’ve known her since we were in high school together. She just signed a contract and is debuting against Jacki at the next Revolution. I invited her as a personal guest to come see the show, and if Jacki’s mad she got grabbed, it’s her fault for taking the fight to the floor like she did. Obviously Carina can’t reach her if she had stayed in the ring, right?
Mia: Obviously. And I mean she was a little too close to the fans for comfort as it was. Carina was just defending herself against a possible attack!
Kevin: I also found out who my next challenger for the title will be.
He reaches off camera and retrieves the Silver State title to let Mia hold it.
Kevin: I’m facing Crystal Caldwell. She started wrestling somewhere a few decades ago. She has a fully grown daughter who also wrestles professionally. Don’t remember her name, don’t care. Now let’s give everyone your entirely unbiased opinion here. Do you think Crystal stands a chance in hell of taking this title from me?
Mia: I wanna say it’s Jennifer or Brianna? Nicole maybe? I think she also has a son, now that I’m trying to recall.
She shrugs.
Mia: Not that it matters. You’re still lightyears ahead of her on just skill alone.
Kevin: She probably doesn’t remember that I already beat her in a tag match here a little while back. She probably doesn’t remember a lot of things. When you get to her age, the memory starts to go. Those hot flashes kick in pretty frequently, and well….nothing really stays in the shape it used to, if you get my drift.
Mia: Plus she works in 2 other companies, last I checked. She’s got to be feeling the wear and tear – and that’s coming from my professional viewpoint. You don’t wrestle all over the place, flying from here to there multiple times a week without putting undue strain on your body.
Kevin: You know what? You have been doing such an excellent job here, how would you like to accompany me to the ring for that title defense? How would you like to be in the corner of the champ as I do what I do in every title defense…win?
Mia: Seriously?! Uhm… YES. I’d love that!
Kevin: Well then, that settles that. Crystal, it’s nothing personal. I’m not thrilled I have to beat up a woman who is probably a year or two from being able to draw Social Security. But that’s a you problem and not a me problem. You’ll find out what every other opponent I’ve faced in this company has already learned. What do you think that is?
Mia: That you’re the only ace in a deck of complete jokers.
Kevin: I think that about wraps up the show for now. Keep an eye peeled, because I’ll be inviting Carina Vega to join me next. Until then, I promised Mia here I’d take her to lunch. Any parting words for the Twitch crew watching?
Mia: Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already!
As she finishes, the stream ends.
