WHAT BRINGS YOU TO UPRISING?
It was the name that first drew Ty’s attention, well that and the logo. Then when he saw that the promotions tv program was named “Revolution” he was completely interested. Ty’s background and beliefs aren’t exactly a secret. The imagery drawn here is something he can get behind along with the idea of trying to do something new in a field where things can become stagnant easy. This is what led Ty into reaching out himself.
PERSONALITY OVERVIEW: Ty is very stoic and reserved in most cases.
STRENGTHS:
Ty is very well known for his charitable efforts. His clothing line PROLETARIAT became a non profit years ago with its main focus being on providing clothing, food, and housing to families in poverty across the world. Ty also hasn’t taken a salary in years. All the money he earns from wrestling is donated to children's hospitals.
Ty also tends to be very loyal to those who are both loyal and trustworthy to him.
WEAKNESSES:
Mental illness - Ty suffers from multiple mental illnesses and it’s something that can easily derail him in his personal life and career.
Addiction - Ty’s recent addiction struggles have kept him from staying in wrestling for long for the last couple years. It always seems like the next relapse is around the corner.
WHY THEY'D BE CHEERED: For someone who tends to not care so much about the people behind the curtain with him, Ty thoroughly loves the fans. Ty is always willing to stop and talk to them and there’s been plenty of times where he won’t leave until he’s shaked every hand and signed every autograph. He understands that without them there wouldn’t be anything and he wouldn’t be doing what he is doing.
WHY THEY'D BE BOOED: While we are in a world where people say politics should be left out of things, Ty doesn’t exactly follow that rule. Ty is a proud Marxist-Leninist and a member of the Communist Party of Russia. He even has a hammer and sickle on his trunks. There are plenty of people within the US who are not tolerant of Ty’s stance at all and despite the good things he does they refuse to see past this.
REASONS TO COMPETE:
- PASSION: All your character has ever wanted to do is wrestle. It's in their blood; their DNA. They eat, breathe and live this sport and for them it's a way of life.
ATTITUDE TOWARDS TEAMWORK:
- RELUCTANT SOLDIER: Your character would always prefer to fight alone but will reluctantly join forces with someone if it's for a good cause or a common goal.
TENDENCY TO CHEAT:
- Never
THEME SONG: “Stasis”– Pallbearer
WRESTLING EXPERIENCE: 11 years
WRESTLING STYLE:
- THE TECHNICIAN: Relies on a catch-as-catch-can style of wrestling, featuring a variety of suplexes, submission holds and ground-based wrestling.
- THE STRONG STYLIST: Relies on hard-hitting (often stiff) moves and sharp strikes. Whether it's punches, chops, kicks, throws or submission holds, this fighter wants to hit hard, hit fast and hurt their foes.
MATCH TENDENCIES: Ty is all about doing things his way inside the ring, and his way is shoot style. Ty is a pro wrestling purist, it’s one of the reasons he tends not to use punches in exchange for forearms and open handed strikes. He uses a mostly defensive style to let his opponent put themselves in bad positions and then he uses his BJJ/Judo/Sambo skills to wear them down physically. If we’re going by Thesz terms here then Ty is a hooker.
BACKSTAGE TENDENCIES: Ty isn’t always the friendliest guy in the world to his peers in pro wrestling. He tends to be polite but answers can be short with no open ending for a reply. He tends to be weary of those in wrestling after being screwed too many times over in the past.
FIGHT-ENDING STYLE:
- OUT-WRESTLING: Beats the opponent using their preferred wrestling style.
- CEREBRAL: Overcomes the opposition through intelligence, ingenuity and superior ring psychology.
- SUPERIOR STAMINA: Uses their superb conditioning to wait for the opponent to tire, before ending the fight on their terms.
IN-RING STRENGTHS:
- Grappling background - Ty has black belts in both BJJ and Judo along with an international master of sport in Sambo. When it comes to rockin it on the mat there’s few who can keep up with what Ty brings to the table. He can easily stretch and wear down his opponents once he makes the openings.
- Stamina - Ty was once called the energizer bunny of pro wrestling when he once wrestled two matches in one night with a combined match time of hour two hours, and he won both. Ty’s conditioning is one of the things he prides himself on and he has no issues making a match take as long as it needs to for him to have the advantage.
- Fighting spirit - For better or worse Ty is one of those who can take a tremendous beating and just keep on going. In some cases Ty doesn’t hit his stride until he’s been beat on for a while. It’s not the best strategy for some but it works for him.
IN-RING WEAKNESSES:
- Refusal to back down - It’s a double edged sword. Ty has a tendency to just keep going and going even once it would behoove him not too.
- Mental illness - While it just as much of an out of the ring weakness when Ty is dealing with his mental health issues it tends to follow him into his professional life as well and he can be distracted because of it.
- Size - While Ty has become used to facing and defeating larger opponents it still doesn’t mean it’s not something that can’t be used against him. At only 5’8” many opponents will tower over Ty giving them an advantage.
