In a week’s time, I have the biggest match of my career. I am going to be facing off against Griffin Hawkins for the Uprising Sliver State Championship. The championship that I’ve been eying since I’ve arrived in late season one. I know, a lot of you guys are thinking “am I capable of defeating a journey man in Griffin Hawkins when I’ve just been in wrestling for two years?”
The answer: Yes.
But I don’t want Griffin thinking I am coming into this match, slouching off and not giving him that fight he wants. I plan on coming into this match giving everything I got to him. Meagan and Sarah have talked to me about this along with few others that I know of and they will be coming to Reno next weekend to see me face off for the championship.
It seems like the pressure is on for me, but to be honest. I know what pressure feels like. Before my brother passed away, I tried out for the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleading squad. The eyes were on me to see what I was able to do and I nailed everything to a perfection. I got the spot but had to turn it down after my brother died. Even when I was cocktail waitressing, the pressure was on to perform and get the tips. That’s how I like.
When I trained to become a wrestler, Jamey Caresalle once said that you must have a face of confidence and kick pressure in the ass. That’s what I did.
When I faced off against Sam Tolson for the championship, the pressure was on. Even in defeat, I did look good. When I was facing off against Luciana Verdoza in our violent cage match, the pressure was on. The pressure will be on this upcoming Uprising for the championship.
And that’s the way I like it. Besides, I really, and I mean REALLY hope my peers in Five Boroughs Wrestling watches this too instead of wasting their time creating a list and calling me someone’s cheerleader. If they know wrestling, they will watch this show, but they are too stuck up in their own ego to even watch.
However, that’s besides the point. Next Saturday cannot come soon enough. Griffin better be prepared
