Jenny had spent her night watching UPRISING’s Revolution 12 from TV, glad that she didn’t need to make an appearance. A small smile caressed her lips as she saw the contract signing for the upcoming supershows Monsters Ball match between Knox and her brother. That is, until Knox went and spoke SuMa’s real name on air. Jenny felt the blood on her veins freeze up.
“How the fuck did he know???” She muttered out loud, her voice a mixture of fear and disbelief. “There should be no documents left… no paper trail… Nothing to tie Supreme Machine to Thomas Rivers…”
(Lucky guess? Finding out who your brother is and then just using logic)
“Not funny. 15 years. Thats how long it’s been since someone other than me has addressed him as Tom. He’s gonna flip his shit. Completely.” She felt a tinge of panic surge through her. All these months, ever since reconnecting with him, she had worked hard to establish some sort, any sort of control over the unpredictable beast that her brother had become. She had managed to tame him enough for him to compete in UPRISING… and now Knox was looking to undo it all. She cursed under her breath.
“That paint-faced idiot is gonna get everyone he ever loved killed or hurt. Fucking hell. He’s been underestimating my brother for months now. This is exactly what I tried to avoid. Goddammit” She got up and started pacing the livingroom. The prospect of having to deal with the fallout of SuMa’s inevitable rampage weighed heavily on her mind. The legal ramifications… and the sheer amount of time and effort it would cost her to make it all go away as usual. She didn’t have the time to deal with this shit. She had her own career to worry about.
Jenny’s frantic pacing was interrupted by a chime on her phone. She picked it up and saw that Knox had tagged her in a tweet. Another chill went through her spine. This could only be bad.
“Matthew "The Raven" Knox
@mravenk1
Was it something I said, Tommy boy? @suprememachine Oh and hey, @queenmachinej thanks for spilling the beans, sweetheart. you were right. waiting to drop it on him did make it more effective <3”
“He didn’t…” She slumped on the couch, suddenly feeling powerless. Knox was insinuating that she had told him when he had kidnapped her. But that wasn’t true. He had tried. But she hadn’t talked. And now he was trying to point SuMa’s anger at her.
Jenny’s fingers started dancing on the keyboard as she shot off tweet after tweet to Knox and SuMa, trying to get the former to understand JUST how badly he had fucked up and the latter to understand that she had nothing to do with it. She threw glances towards the door to the basement and the entryway, expecting SuMa to burst through the door any moment now. For the first time since she fell from that titantron… She was afraid.

Silence had befallen the house. Neither sound nor light permeated the building as it’s occupant sat on a couch and waited. And waited. Resigned to her fate. Terrified of its extent. Jenny sat and waited. Waited for Supreme Machine. Her brother. To make it back. She was innocent. But he didn’t know that. All she hoped for was for him to listen to her before striking.
“It wasn’t me who told him” She spoke in a quiet voice. She had felt a presence behind her. The 6’9’’ 360lbs man was able to move with utter silence. But she had learned to sense him. She didn’t turn, just stared into the distance.
“We aren’t stupid.” came a response in a low growl. “Yet you gave him enough information to find out on his own” Not an accusation. A statement. “You underestimated his intellect”
Still staring into the distance Jenny shrugged. “Maybe. What do you plan on doing about it?” She was struggling to keep her voice steady.
“Don’t you mean what do we plan on doing about you?” The growl was closer now, Jenny could feel SuMa’s breath on the back of her neck, but she still refused to turn.
“Same difference to me. It’s not hard to figure out what you plan to do to Knox. But you do realize that if you plan on taking your anger out on me, it will be a longer fight than you think and it will cost you dearly in the long run” As Jenny said that, she felt all her muscles tensing up, the hair on the back of her neck stand up and her heartrate shoot up. She could feel that a confrontation was inevitable. But she was ready.
A silence followed. SuMa was slightly taken aback by her words. Jenny knew that right now he was debating his options and scanning the room in search of something that might give her an advantage. But there was none. The silence was broken by a low chuckle. “Guess we’ll find out”
Just like she predicted, SuMa lunged at her from behind. But she was ready. Like an uncoiling spring, she bounced up from the couch to her feet, grabbing SuMa by the head and somersaulted over him. She knew that her agility and quickness was the sole saving grace against the massive beast, but she also knew that she couldn’t win a fight. All she needed to do was keep avoiding him, striking and retreating until he had enough. And she hoped she had enough in the tank. His initial attack foiled, SuMa turned to face Jenny, his stance looking like a rattlesnake poised to strike. The masked monster eyed Jenny up and down, giving out another chuckle. “As expected. You think you can run forever?”
Jenny felt her sense sharpening. She realized it was the companion in her head providing assistance. Just like when she was in the ring she began to see and feel the movements of her foe, the potential actions he could take. “Guess we’ll find out” she retorted to the monster with his own words. This caused him to snarl and lunge again, looking to grab instead of hit but all he could reach was empty air as Jenny floated under the massive arm, stepped off a wall to give herself momentum and landed an elbow to the side of SuMa’s head. She rolled for distance and began to move away, trying to make her way to the backyard to give her more space.
SuMa sees her plan and moves to try and cut her off, but despite being a lot faster than anyone his size should be, Jenny manages to slip outside just out of his reach, the cool night air sending a chill through her body. She quickly dashes deeper, seeking refuge between the bushes she was tending on the last promo she recorded. The surprisingly expansive backyard slash garden was to be their battleground.
“You can’t hide forever… SISTER…” the emphasis on the word sister was dripping with venom. SuMa was quickly getting tired of playing around as he stalked around the garden, looking for her.
“Just stop. You have nothing to gain by hurting me!” Jenny responded out of frustration, instantly realizing the mistake she made as through a tall bush charged the masked beast. She managed to barely avoid most of the blow, as instead of bulldozing over her like he had intended, SuMa only managed to catch Jenny’s shoulder with his. But the force behind the charge was strong enough to throw Jenny almost 180degrees around with a sharp stinging on the impacted area. She quickly rolled away, putting an apple tree between the two.
“STOP RUNNING. FIGHT US!” SuMa snarled again as he stalked towards Jenny, the woman keeping several paces of distance between them, her eyes scanning their surroundings in search for an escape or an advantage. But still, none was apparent. So she finally sighed and closed her eyes in resignation.
“So be it.” She whispered and leapt forward, avoiding SuMa’s grasp and hitting him in the solar plexus with her knee. SuMa responded by landing a clubbing blow on her back, knocking the air out of her. But before he could move in for the kill, Jenny rolled away and onto her feet.
The pair fought on. Jenny dodging and diving, striking when an opening presented itself, SuMa landing heavy blows whenever he could. But neither was able to get the upper hand. No matter how many times she struck, he remained unwavering. And no matter how many times he tried, she remained out of reach. Finally, after almost 20 minutes of their deadly dance that left the garden in tatters, Jenny lunged in for one last desperate attack, grabbing a hold of SuMa’s hand and wrapping her legs around his head, the pair landing down on the ground with the monster locked into a triangle choke. But despite the level of control Jenny had, she couldn't stop SuMa from wrapping his fingers around her throat, the pair squeezing each other simultaneously.
She felt her mind going blank, yanking relentlessly in an attempt to get the beast to fade out and just before darkness took her the only thought in her head was “Not like this…”
