WHAT BRINGS YOU TO UPRISING?
"We of BLACK CRUSADE WORLDWIDE are making our intentions known to join UPRISING in order to aid our trusted BLACK CRUSADE teammate, Kalinda Kriegsdottir.
While we are here in UPRISING, we intend to accomplish, and continue to accomplish often, 3 primary goals: CONQUER, CONSUME, and CONTROL.
We will speak our words eloquently, but our actions will echo and reverb so much further than simply the wrestling ring in UPRISING's homebase of Reno.
Make no mistake, we intend on winning championships and clutching to them with grasps stronger than iron, but those championships will serve as the tangible demonstrations of our domination over those who choose to fight us -- as well as those who are chosen by UPRISING management to fight us -- rather than step aside from our warpath.
This is our mission.
This is our CRUSADE.
We will not stop, no matter how hard you fight back, and no matter how much to try to break us.
Be afraid.
Be very afraid." - JIRITSU, on behalf of BLACK CRUSADE WORLDWIDE
PERSONALITY OVERVIEW: While the 4 masked members of BCWW have (mostly) consistently kept any distinguishing personality traits close to the vest (if displaying any at all), JIRITSU, being the primary spokesperson of the quintet, has displayed semi-frequent bursts of passion during mostly-serious deliveries of translated-from-Japanese proclamations and declarations from the group.
STRENGTHS:
- IN-RING: JIRITSU, like the rest of the group, displays an almost-reckless level of fearlessness in the ring, willing to risk jumping from higher heights than everyone else in the group (other than PyreBird) in order to put away an opponent. More than a decade in the ring has also helped them learn how to properly strategize, and JIRITSU also functions as the quintet's main planner.
- OUT-OF-RING: JIRITSU, while remaining masked even if dressed "casually", has an incredible propensity of heightened observation, often able to see and point out things the rest of the quintet might miss on first or even second glance. JIRITSU's fearlessness, unlike the rest of the group, is borne from an under-wraps near-death experience back in 2005 that does not get mentioned on camera in any sort of detail, if at all.
WEAKNESSES:
- IN-RING: JIRITSU's almost-reckless level of fearlessness also results in them taking unnecessary risks, which may or may not pay off, and also has a higher-than-necessary tendency to result in momentum shifts away from BCI's favor more often than they'd like in matches.
- OUT-OF-RING: JIRITSU, moreso than the rest of the group, has an abnormally heightened sense of distrust of anybody outside of the group, which can more than occasionally cause friction with any potential partners-of-circumstance in matches where they are made to team with other people/groups.
ALIGNMENT: Whichever alignment fellow BLACK CRUSADE teammate Kalinda Kreigsdottir is currently at, otherwise Chaotic Neutral in general.
WHY THEY'D BE CHEERED: JIRITSU is willing to do (or at least attempt) high-risk maneuvers (guaranteed pop-getters) on a regular basis, is not above using weapons (also guaranteed pop-getters), and despises lying, which often includes calling both heels and faces out on such.
WHY THEY'D BE BOOED: While speaking, JIRITSU's propensity for and insistence on the truth also more than occasionally results in unfavorable responses to uncomfortable truths being delivered, even (and especially) to fan favorites. Their weapon use also elicits boos against fan favorites, and oftentimes their battle strategy includes attempting (sometimes even succeeding in) outside-of-the-ring incapacitations for count-out wins, which is also a surefire boo-getter even against heels (because fans hate countout finishes a large majority of the time).
REASONS TO COMPETE:
- BLOODLUST/VIOLENCE: Your character gets a thrill from the violence. For them, winning and losing is secondary to being able to spill the blood of another human being.
ATTITUDE TOWARDS TEAMWORK:
- INNER CIRCLE: Your character will team with a select few ONLY. Outside of that small circle, they'd be considered anti-social, but within their group, they're fiercely loyal.
TENDENCY TO CHEAT:
- Sometimes; JIRITSU is what is known on TV Tropes as a "Combat Pragmatist" and will often use whatever is available/convenient/nearby to aid them.
THEME SONG: 'The Tiger Warrior' (Killer Instinct 2013 - Jago's theme) – Mick Gordon
(Note: Whenever possible, JIRITSU enters matches accompanied by their 4 BLACK CRUSADE WORLDWIDE teammates, otherwise, they only enter accompanied by PyreBird)
VALET/MANAGER: PyreBird
VALET/MANAGER FACE CLAIM: Jennifer Widerstrom/American Gladiator Phoenix
VALET/MANAGER PURPOSE: In regular matches (with DQ), the near-Amazonian PyreBird stands around menacingly and to serve as an insurance policy to prevent outside interference against JIRITSU. In matches with no DQ, PyreBird will generally get some hits in if/when the opponent is thrown out of the ring near her, and will also throw them back into the ring if they're trying to escape for whatever reason. She will also talk strategy with JIRITSU whenever they're outside.
WRESTLING EXPERIENCE: Officially unknown/unrevealed, but JIRITSU first *appeared* in pro wrestling in 2013 alongside KATSUDO as a member of the BLACK CRUSADE before co-founding the spinoff BLACK CRUSADE INTERNATIONAL group with KATSUDO.
(However, in the redacted records, Adrienne Sonoma, the person underneath the mask, has been training since 2002 and officially wrestling professionally since 2005 after a one-year hiatus before debuting in order to deal with recovery from injuries sustained during training.)
WRESTLING STYLE: A mix of the following...
20% - THE AERIALIST: Relies on speed and aerial prowess to overwhelm their foes. What they lack in size and brute strength, they make up for in agility and accuracy.
20% - THE SPOT MONKEY: Relies on shocking high spots, daredevil antics and dangerous risk taking to compensate for lack of technical wrestling ability. Will put everything on the line to entertain fans and overcome the challenger.
40% - THE STRONG STYLIST: Relies on hard-hitting (often stiff) moves and sharp strikes. Whether it's punches, chops, kicks, throws or submission holds, this fighter wants to hit hard, hit fast and hurt their foes.
20% - THE EXTREMIST: Relies on weaponry and their surroundings to abuse their opponents. Their primary objective, aside from victory, is to maim, bludgeon and incapacitate. Nothing is off-limits for this fighter.
MATCH TENDENCIES: Inside the ring, JIRITSU operates on a philosophy of "strike first, strike fast, strike fierce", looking to end a match as quickly as possible due to not exactly having a tremendous amount of endurance and physical defense. They will primarily target the head and legs using Knee-based strikes, with an occasional targeting of the arms in order to limit the opponent's ability to throw a punch or use throws. Every so often, when they've shifted momentum back into their favor after losing it, they'll attempt to introduce a steel chair into the proceedings, with varying results, before inevitably using the opportunity (distraction or not) to go for a signature/finisher.
BACKSTAGE TENDENCIES: Outside of the ring, JIRITSU (despite their face being completely covered by their mask and their body covered by a full body suit and a large robe-like jacket) exudes an aura and manner of what can only be described as "disquieting invitation", which can be tangentially classed in a similar vein to Jigsaw asking "Would you like to play a game?" or Pennywise guaranteeing "You'll float too": completely innocent and honest invitations for completely innocent and simple up-and-up activities (even something like "can I toss you a water bottle from the cooler?") with threatening auras and malevolent intents, even when it really is just an innocent invitation with a perfectly fine outcome (sometimes the discomfort coming from the action taking place WITHOUT being accompanied by an ambush or sabotage or food being poisoned, etc. and the other person/people being rhetorically kept up at night wondering why JIRITSU didn't actually do anything bad).
JIRITSU also frequently enjoys vanilla bean ice cream, facing away from the camera (whenever shown on camera eating it) in order to keep their bared mouth from being shown while eating.
FIGHT-ENDING STYLE:
- ULTRA-VIOLENCE: Focused around brutality, using weapons and their surroundings, leaving their opponent no choice but to concede defeat.
NOTE: In tag team matches, JIRITSU's tendency to seek to end matches with weapons or excessive brutality that leads to a decision reversal primarily results in PyreBird being the one to finish the matches properly for the tandem.
IN-RING STRENGTHS:
- Surprise Submissionist: With JIRITSU's tendency to rely mainly on high-risk and high-speed striking moves, opponents are often taken by surprise when their attempts at reversing a striking move are met with expert-level technical twists into body-pretzeling submission moves, the twisting often being used as scientifically-engineered leverage to make up for JIRITSU's below-average physical strength in simply forcing the hold.
- Combat Confusionist: As mentioned above, JIRITSU tends to rely mainly on high-risk and high-speed striking moves, often mixing them up in order to confuse and catch the opponent off-guard and attempt to keep them from mounting a cohesive defense/offense.
- Early Agility: During the early stages of the match, JIRITSU is more likely to successfully escape from moves by using flips and rolls that cause the opponent to loosen their grip and get caught off-guard for just long enough to get hit.
IN-RING WEAKNESSES:
- Physical Defense: Out of the 5 members of BLACK CRUSADE WORLDWIDE, JIRITSU is the one with the smallest and slightest frame, and is thus more prone to taking the heat and the loss the longer a match goes on.
- Physical Endurance: Connected to their defense, taking bigger moves early on takes a larger toll on JIRITSU's longevity and endurance than it would for any of their teammates, and makes it more difficult for JIRITSU to perform holds for any length of time or do lifts as well.
- Physical Strength: Very few of JIRITSU's moves involves lifting, because they aren't super strong to begin with. This also leads to some crucial recovery downtime for JIRITSU after a big lifting move.
