Plans Afoot (off-cam)
March 13th
08:01pm
Rivers Residence
Reno, Nevada.
The basement that Supreme Machine spent his days in was quiet, except for the quiet muttering of the big man himself in the corner.
“I hate this… Having to ask HER for help…” the gruff voice that belongs to the monstrous side of SuMa had a tinge of irritation on it. And that’s not surprising. He had managed to create a situation where he needed help.
“She might not even help us… This isn’t her fight. And Knox doesn’t know the connection between us and her. Or Jennifer and her... She would risk a lot.” The softer voice of the man within responded. But even he was muted. It was an uncomfortable situation for both personalities.
“What isn’t my fight? What have you gone and done in my absence brother dearest? I told you to stay out of trouble…” We hear the bright voice of Queenie echo in the basement. SuMa turns around to look for her and unlike the last time they spoke, She isn’t sneaking around. Instead she is seated on the stairs, looking mighty exhausted. The paint on her face hastily drawn. “This better be good brother dearest, you got any idea what hassle it is to get all dolled up just to come meet you? You coulda just talked to Jennifer you know” Queenie could barely hide the annoyance in her voice. She was very tired. From travel and from the match at Last of Us.
SuMa growled. He wasn’t accustomed to be spoken to like that. And as usual whenever there was someone else within earshot, the monster side took over. “Watch your tone. We can still tear you apart if we feel like it.”
Queenie sighed. “Can we just please skip the posturing and get to business? You two need my help for something. So, spill the beans or I’ll leave and get some sleep.”
SuMa was torn. On the other hand, Jenny was disrespecting him. But on the other… he did need her help. The internal dialogue he was having was obvious on his face and finally he relented. “Fine…” SuMs slumped down on the ground and leaned back, resting his head against the cold concrete.”We need you to come with us to Revolution. You. Not Jennifer. We need your help to trap the Raven. You can go where we can’t. You can speak to those we can’t. Jennifer could too.. But she’s too soft to do what needs to be done.” He looked down to Jenny and sighed. “Will you help us?”
Jenny leant back on the stairs, tapping her lips with her indexfinger thoughtfully. “Raven… thats broody boy right? The mentor/idol of the brave boy, Bert or something?” She hopped up and walked over to SuMa, plopping herself down on his lap. “Now what did you do? Why would you need my help to deal with puddin?”
“Puddin?” SuMa looked at her quizzically.
Jenny chuckled. “He called me a dollar store Harley Quinn. At first I wanted to be mad at him but well… Playing along is more fun. So I started calling him puddin. But answer the question brother dearest. What did you do and why do you need me. I thought you went to Vegas to get to him”
“We did. But we got sidetracked by a little girl he hired to protect his hatchling. So now we need a new plan. And forcing his hand at the show is the best way…” SuMa muttered quietly. The failure caused by Amber Ryan’s appearance had been a blow to his ego.
Jenny gave another bright chuckle and pats him on the cheek affectionately. “So THAT was what that whole twitter-exchange was about. You mixed up with the daughter of the hunkiest hunk to ever hunk. My my what a small world.” She stood up and stretched like a cat, the thrill of the situation having washed her exhaustion away. “Well then brother dearest… if you think I can help… I’m all for it! Messing with puddin an hunk’s daughter sounds like fun. Just drop the details to Jennifer at some point and we’ll go from there.” She leant down to plant a kiss on his forehead, following it up with a hard slap on the cheek and a hop backwards. “Stay on your toes brother dearest… It’s gonna be a wild ride.”
And just like that she vanished up the stairs, leaving SuMa alone in the basement, his ears ringing from the slap. “Was this wise?” the soft side of him spoke first.
SuMa growled and punched the wall next to him. “No it wasn’t. But it was necessary. We need to trap the Raven and she… she might be our only chance of getting it done…”
