New Years Eve… (off-cam)
January 1st 2021 - 01:12am

Rivers residence
It was late at night on new years eve, clock had struck midnight and the pyro and ballyhoo had been great. Jenny had enjoyed the night out, as she hadn’t had one in a while. But now she had returned home. Dressed in a black cocktaildress and a pair of stiletto heels, the former world champion level wrestler shut the door to her house and kicked the heels off. She felt a small pang of guilt as she had gone out to celebrate, leaving him alone.
But then again, she had convinced herself, he had been alone for a long time, never showing any signs of needing company. And despite his opponent, Legion, so claiming. Jenny had her own life to contend as well.
She let her hair down and glanced over at the door to the basement he had taken as his residence and paused. Maybe she should go and check up on him? Show him that she’d returned?
She sighed. Was it really in HER best interests to run interference on his sake? After all, she had no responsibilities towards him. Or did she?
Not officially no. Officially her brother was long gone. She could probably get him committed for life if she so chose. But she didn’t. Why? Was she trying to make up for her own bad choices by helping her brother to fulfill his needs? Perhaps.
Then again, this way she could remain part of the business and if an opportunity arose, maybe even make her own return to the ring. She glanced at the mirror and smiled. She was still in shape. She had made sure of that. Yoga and workout kept her in physical prime and the occasional sparring kept her wrestling instincts sharp. But for now? She was content to be a manager. Until she would no longer be haunted by the ghost of her past. No longer associated with a man whose empire was crumbling around him.
A small creak broke her off of her thoughts and she looked around herself. A chill ran down her spine when she realized that the door to the basement wasn’t closed but moving slightly as a small breeze ran down there. She blinked and took a few quick steps, yanking the door open and glancing downwards.
“Tom? You there? I’m back. Everything alright?” She hollered downstairs. She knew her brother hated the name Tom but she had made it clear to him that in private she would never call him Supreme Machine or SuMa or any of the other monikers he went by.
There was no response from downstairs and Jenny started to get nervous. She made her way down the stairs and looked around in the darkness, hoping to find the familiar figure of her brother hunched in a corner. She didn’t. Instead she saw something that chilled her to the bone.
It was his mask. Discarded on the floor.
He had gone out.

Downtown Reno, NV
The city was abuzz with life as people were getting ready to celebrate 2020’s ending. The nightlife was as vibrant and busy as ever with bars, clubs and the like were filled to the brim with people to a point of the parties spilling out to the streets.
But the light doesn’t reach everywhere. Between the buildings are shadows deep and dark enough to hide a frame as massive as the one belonging to SuMa. The big man is watching the celebrations while remaining in the shade, dressed in the same pair of black pants as he usually wears, but now having a large hoodie covering his upper body and more importantly, his face. If you discounted his size, there was nothing noteworthy in his appearance. The raggedness making him look like just another hobo in the alley. But under the hood, behind the greasy mane of hair that veiled his face, a pair of pitch black eyes were watching. They watched as a young couple showed their love to everyone around with a deep kiss.
They watched as a young man tried to down a bottle of hard liquor in one go dared forward by his friends.
They watched as a young woman was holding back tears after seeing her love making out with another woman.
They watched life in its whole spectrum.
“Why did you want to come here… weakling? You know you can never be like that. Not anymore”. It was the gruff voice of the beast-side of him that spoke. The voice barely audible, nothing more than a coarse murmur. But it was enough as he was speaking to himself.
“That might be. But I can still watch can’t I? Unlike you, I don’t enjoy our time in the basement. Besides. Who knows? Maybe if we just raised our head high and walked into the crowd, they might just accept us. Accept ME. Times have changed… Being a freak is no longer shunned as much as it used to be” The softer side of the man spoke quietly, a hint of yearning in his voice. He had been a social animal as a youngster, never missing a gathering when there was one, feeling right at home in the crowd and as the center of attention. So he missed the lifestyle.
As soon as Tom had finished, a low rumbling chuckle escaped the mans lips. He shook his head and buried his face in his hand. “Really? You REALLY think we’d be accepted? Sure… freak and queers are now an everyday part of society, with nobody but the most small-minded bigots caring… but that does not mean WE could become part of the society.”
SuMa glanced around himself and spotted a couple heading towards the alleyway, clearly looking for a more private place to get to know each other better. He slunk deeper into the shadows and muttered under his breath. “Let me prove it to you weakling…”
He watched as the couple slipped into the alleyway and pressed themselves into a doorway out of sight from the main road. They were entwined in a lustful embrace, with the males hands traveling up and down the females body until they slipped under her skirt. There was a small sound of surprise from the man and he froze, pulling his hand away from under the skirt. The woman immediately got a deer-in-the-headlights look in her face and stepped away from the man. SuMa watched as the woman tried to speak, her voice wavering…
“I… I wanted to tell you but… but I never got the chance… I understand if you don’t want to see me anymore…” her voice was on the brink of breaking. The man blinked a few times and quickly rushed to the woman, placing his hands on her cheek and responding in a soft tone.
“No… I was just caught by surprise. I don’t care about something like that. No matter what you have between your legs… I still want you” He gave his words an exclamation point by pulling her into an embrace and kissing her deeply.
In the shadows, SuMa muttered quietly. “A perfect specimen… A man who accepts a woman born a man… Lets see how he reacts to US.” and with that SuMa began to walk out of the shadows towards the pair. The pair noticed him when he was but a pair of steps away and both froze. SuMa glared down to them from under his hood and spoke up in a soft voice, showing that it was Tom who spoke.
“My apologizes, I did not mean to startle you. But neither did I want to be an uninvited guest to your moment, and since there is no other exit to this alleyway, I figured I’d come out. I’ll be on my way so I won’t bother you anymore.”
The couple looked up to SuMa, both looking quite nervous. Despite the soft voice and the calm words, he was still 6’9’’ and build like a house of bricks. But as he made no aggressive gestures, they calmed down and the man responded to him.
“Don’t worry about it friend, not the first time someone has inadvertently found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Happy new year to you!”
Just as SuMa was about to respond, clock struck midnight and fireworks started to go off all around them. And almost as if planned, the beast-side of him took control just for a moment to yank the hood off his face and whipping the hair out, letting his scarred face bathe in the multicolored light of the fireworks. The alternating light and shadow danced on his scarred, almost misshapen face as he looked down on the couple, turning what he had intended as a warm smile into a gruesome grimace. The womans eyes widened and she let out a loud shriek.
“Wh...wh...what are you??? Do… Don’t hurt us!” She whimpered and tried to hide behind the mans back. The man saw what she saw and color drained from his face.
“Just… just go! We… we don’t want any trouble from you”” He spoke in a hurried tone as the pair rapidly left the alley and blended into the celebrating crowd. SuMa was left standing alone in stunned silence. Until the beast took over, pulled the hood over their face and chuckled.
“I told you weakling… No matter how understanding and tolerant people are… a freak like us only cause fear. Our visage frightened them, even though we did nothing to elicit such a reaction. Now do you believe us?” His voice sounded terribly content at himself.
As the man started to make his way back to the house through the dark alleyways and shadowy sidestreets, there was silence. Tom hadn’t responded to the beast because the experience had shook him. Finally, as they saw the street that they now resided in he spoke.
“You planned that didn’t you? You never pass up a chance to twist the knife in the wound do you? Why?” A strong hint of sadness in the soft voice of the man who he was before he broke.
“Yes I did. And why? Because the sooner you let go of your delusions of EVER being able to return to society as a normal member of it… the sooner we can fulfill our true potential. And I twist the knife to remind you that THEY are the reason for my existence. I am you and you are me because society used and abused you until you could take it no more. Never. EVER forget that weakling. EVER.”
Tom didn’t respond. He had no words to respond with. So SuMa reached the Rivers residence and slipped in the door. Only to run into Jenny in the doorway. Jenny was furious, holding the mask in her hand.
“Where have you been? I thought we agreed upon this. I take care of all your daily needs and you don’t leave the house.” Her voice was sharp and agitated. In her mind she saw the headlines of her brother getting arrested for battery or worse.
“We know what you think Jenny. We didn’t do anything. We just needed some fresh air..” SuMa responded and swiped the mask from her hand and slipping it over his face. “You should be glad we returned when we did. Because you need to remember something… You might be our manager… but we aren’t your ward. We do things your way because we choose to… not because we have to.”
With that, SuMa made his way to the basement door, slipped in and slammed the door shut behind himself. Jenny was left dumbfounded in the entranceway, staring at the closed door with dread filling her mind.
She had no control. Not in the slightest. And it scared her.
