1. JOINING
1.1 – UPRISING is an angle fed. That means that wins and losses may be predetermined but your momentum on the card and push towards championships will be determined by participation. The first rule is to have fun. This is a hobby to get away from reality and the focus of this place is going to be on creating a dynamic and interactive story. If you take wins and losses too seriously, this probably won't be the right place for you.
1.2 – UPRISING will only accept applications for original characters who aren't a carbon copy of someone in real life. This means that John Blade or LaToya Hixx won't have a place on this roster. Sorry (not sorry).
1.3 – In the interest of realism, let's keep it simple. These are professional wrestlers. They get pinned, bleed, submit and/or tap out. No one is Superman and everyone will eventually lose a match. By showing weakness, it allows room for growth for your character.
1.4 – We are not at all strict about picture bases. More than one person can use the same base as we don't do promotional posters with the roster on them. Theme music, however, should be unique for each character.

1.5 – The overall singles roster cap will be set at 30 (not counting enhancement talent).
1.6 - A maximum of TWO characters will be allowed per handler. An exception to this would be if a single handler chooses to run a tag team or a stable. This would also allow for someone to handle a singles wrestler as well as a tag team or stable.
2. APPLICATIONS
2.1 – When posting your contract application, please try to complete everything. Failure to do so will result in a delay to your application and you won't be booked for matches until this is completed. If you are planning to run a tag team, please do applications for the individual members as well as the team bio so that any special team moves or behaviors can also be listed for match writing.
2.2 – We do not operate with "FACE" or "HEEL" here, as we prefer to adopt a more realistic feel to the game. Instead, we're using the D&D alignment system and asking you to choose at LEAST five positive character traits and at LEAST five negative character traits. This will impact how your character is received by the audience from week to week, as well as the storyline they’ll be involved in.
You absolutely CAN change alignment as your character evolves. If you do so, however, make sure to update your app. But behaving in ways that go completely counter your character's alignment should come with a cost. For example, if you are a good character and behave in ways that run counter to that on a continual basis, your on screen characterization would suffer with the fans. If you do it enough, your alignment might shift permanently without your consultation because your activities reflect a different alignment. Note, this could be from minor slip (Lawful to Neutral, Neutral to Chaotic) to major slip (Good to Neutral, Neutral to Evil). If you require something more nuanced such as adding an "undertone" or "tendency", do so, as that will help everyone understand the context of the character you are portraying. Keep this in mind with how your characters act on both social media and in segments. This is not to stifle creativity or understandable reactions, but to ensure everyone understands that your alignment should be considered at all times involving in-character activity.

3. RESULTS EXPECTATIONS
3.1 – Our bi-weekly shows will be presented in episodic format and will stream on SplatTV every other Saturday night. The UNLEASHED house show is akin to AEW Dark and will air on our fictional YouTube channel.
3.2 – The format of the show will be summarized matches and full segments with a focus on story.
3.3 – While participation via segment is strongly encouraged, it's not REQUIRED. Segments are expected of champions and anyone involved in a major angle but you won't be kicked to the curb if life happens and you don't have a chance to submit something for the show. You don't have to write anything for the show if you don't want to. You can simply sell via social media if you'd prefer to keep this as a low-effort experience.
4. PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
4.1 – Please be aware that roleplays (while not at all mandatory) should be posted directly on this forum to count for events. Outside linking isn't forbidden, but please make sure to tag the UPRISING Twitter account when sharing any creative writing you may be posting elsewhere so they won't be overlooked.
4.2 – In order to avoid any confusion, the following parameters are in place for the often debated "on camera/off camera" controversy:
General Roleplays – Always assumed OFF camera (unless otherwise stated by the writer).
On-Show Segments – Always ON camera.
4.3 – Selling for events on social media can be fun and can also be a great way to find chemistry with someone to spark a future storyline or feud. If you're using social media for this and want it to count for your effort for the show, make sure to tag the UPRISING account so it can be seen and signal boosted. Keep in mind, it's quality over quantity. You're not collecting points for each tweet as a piece of flair. We're looking for consistency (matching the details provided for your character) as well as relevancy to either your storyline, injuries or upcoming opponent. Thirst trap photos without any relevant caption to tie into events do not count as match hype, nor does selling for the other company your char may be in but never mentioning that you work for UPRISING. Sorry.
5. SEGMENTS
5.1 – To confirm, your characters will be entered into a storyline and the segments on each of the shows will either be written by the handler (or the fed head if you have chosen that option). From time to time, writing prompts and/or a request may be sent to further your story if you've opted to write your own segments.
5.2 – Segments written by the players should be no longer than 1000 words (you can check the word count HERE). They don't need to be formatted or color-coded prior to submission but we do request that you follow script format as follows:
5.3 – While we plan out the feuds and storylines as the weeks advance, the plot will be loosely guided by you. Interactions on shows via segment and on social media may act as a driving force for your feuds. Keep this in mind when you interact.

6. GENERAL INFORMATION
6.1 – Opportunities will be given to people who are as productive in character as they are out of character. It's not enough to just “be active”. We want to encourage people to be active in the community both IC and OOC. After all, this is just a game and the most important part is having FUN.
6.2 – If you ever need time off, simply let the fed head know via private message. If you no longer want to be a part of UPRISING, just send me a private message too. I understand that, sometimes, a fed just isn't the right fit. That’s fine – just let us know so we can stop booking your character and can end your storyline.
6.3 – We have a zero tolerance policy on trolling. What does that mean? I'm glad you asked. Please avoid harassing people based on religion, race, sexual orientation or creed. That's not called "heel heat" and it won't get you ahead here. Additionally, please don't grab your 12 alternate accounts and/or friends from other feds to pile on your "opponent" during weekly trash talking on social media. A little back and forth banter is great. Burying and dog-piling someone is something else entirely.
6.4 – Be respectful. If you have any issues with members or staff (or results), please don't post passive-aggressive snarking on Twitter. Talk to us. Talk it out like an adult and if that's not possible, MUTE or BLOCK. Bottom line? We're all adults here. Let's act like it.

6.5 – BUT MOST OF ALL?
HAVE FUN!
